MANTIS is India’s only organisation devoted solely to the use of simulation games and experiential learning exercises in business management education. MANTIS designs, develops, and delivers games for learning and competitions. Its principal users are professional managers, and students of business schools, engineering and other institutes and colleges. MANTIS also conducts research to understand learners’ experiences in its games and to produce better games.
MANTIS was founded by Dr Vinod Dumblekar in 2003. Since then, more than 13,000 beneficiaries have played in MANTIS games. MANTIS has developed nearly twenty games from in-house research and own designs across this period, and continues to do so.
MANTIS has partnered with teachers, coaches, researchers, consultants and administrators of business and other institutions for game design and delivery. MANTIS is managed by Dr Vinod Dumblekar in association with other professionals in the learning industry in India and abroad.
Vinod Dumblekar is India’s most experienced authority and her only researcher in software-based simulation games. He has facilitated nearly 20,000 learners through simulation games in India and abroad. He has a post-graduate degree in business administration (MBA) and a doctorate (Ph D) in management psychology. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the International Simulation and Gaming Association, a 45-year old organisation that represents simulation gaming practitioners as members from over 30 countries. He is the General Secretary of the Indian Simulation and Gaming Association. He is the Association News & Notes Editor of Simulation & Gaming - An Interdisciplinary Journal of Theory, Practice and Research of the International Simulation and Gaming Association. He is the founding Associated Editor of Journal of Simulation and Gaming for Education and Development of ThaiSim: Thai Simulation and Gaming Association.
